UMW Toyota Motor achieving the highest-ever monthly sales in the last 5 years

UMW Toyota Motor ended October 2023 with a monthly total sales of 10,931 units, the highest-ever monthly sales in the last 5 years. This comprises of 10,709 units for Toyota and 222 units for Lexus. With this achievement, the total year-to-date sales as of October 2023 is now at 87,422 units compared to 80,153 units for year-to-date sales in the same period last year. This also marks an 9.1% year-on-year rise in year-to-date sales for the first ten months of the year.

Manufacturing Excellence
The continuous enhancements at both the Bukit Raja and Shah Alam manufacturing complexes demonstrate UMW Toyota Motor's commitment to refining their production processes, leading to more streamlined operations and increased capacity. These improvements have also significantly contributed to the enhancement of the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) processes, showcasing their ongoing pursuit of manufacturing excellence. Additionally, the integration of advanced technologies and sustainable practices at both facilities highlights their dedication to responsible and efficient production methods, setting a new standard for the automotive industry.

Recognising the potential within the MPV segment, Toyota unveiled the 2023 Toyota Alphard & Vellfire, reaffirming Toyota’s position as the leading name in the MPV market. These models have set a new benchmark for advanced features, offering efficient and luxurious transportation solutions for individuals who appreciate sophistication, refined design, and cutting-edge technology. The Toyota Alphard & Vellfire exemplify precision engineering, striking a perfect balance between efficiency and elegance. The all-new 2.4L 16-valve DOHC with turbocharger and intercooler ensures top-notch performance while maintaining the hallmark luxury associated with Toyota.

As part of their commitment to enhancing the buying experience, UMW Toyota Motor introduced a range of promotions for the month of November under the "Celebrate the Symphony of Lights" promo. Toyota customers could grab up to 100% financing for selected models, with promotional benefits of up to RM15,000 available across a diverse range of twelve Toyota models, including the much-anticipated All New Vios and the new Toyota Yaris. Additionally, the Toyota Service Savers program offers convenient monthly instalments starting from as low as RM18.

Community Impact and Green Initiatives
In the sporting segment, the Alphard Cup, a 54-hole competition within the Toyota Tour, unfolded from October 17th to 19th, 2023, at the Kota Seriemas Golf & Country Club. This event served as the season closing for the Toyota Tour and witnessed Galven Green clinching his inaugural professional win in a dramatic Alphard Cup finale. The victory marked a fitting conclusion to the penultimate leg of the Toyota Tour, which kicked off back in March with the Tun Ahmad Sarji Trophy. Galven and Paul San led the field, both delivering exceptional performances with an impressive nine-under 207 aggregates, each carding a stellar four-under 68.

Meanwhile, in the Ladies Championship, top earners Aretha Pan and Genevieve Ling finished with four-over 220 aggregates, with Aretha securing the win in a gripping play-off on the par five 1st hole.

UMW Toyota Motor extended its support to the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM) through the Start Your Impossible (SYI) campaign. This contribution is intended to assist NCSM in expanding and improving its services and programs. The Start Your Impossible (SYI) campaign, initiated by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) alongside the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, emphasises the company's commitment to overcoming challenges. In line with this initiative, UMW Toyota Motor introduced the annual Toyota Outrun, not only reinforcing its brand image but also affirming its position as an innovative mobility company. The 2023 Toyota Outrun received a positive response, resulting in a collection of RM170,000.

To support environmental conservation, UMW Toyota Motor is actively participating in the UMW Green Shoots Initiative (UGS) at the Kubang Badak Mangrove Reserve in Langkawi. This initiative is in alignment with the National 100-million Tree-Planting Campaign 2020-2050, under the theme 'Green Malaysia. Our Trees. Our Life.' With a goal of planting 300,000 trees by 2023, symbolising the average total number of vehicles sold annually, UMW's efforts contribute to Toyota's broader commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, effectively mitigating CO2 emissions. In 2023, UMW Toyota Motor plans to plant 12,000 trees, with a special emphasis on mangrove trees, recognised for their exceptional environmental benefits. This initiative represents a significant stride towards a greener future.
